Browns wide receiver Corey Coleman, who suffered a broken hand in practice this week, will not need surgery on the hand, the team announced Thursday morning. After seeing a hand specialist Thursday morning, it was determined that Coleman would be sidelined 4-6 weeks.

After losing their top two quarterbacks in consecutive weeks to start the season, the Browns offense was dealt another huge blow on Wednesday when Coleman, who leads the team with seven receptions for 173 yards and two touchdowns through two games, broke his hand during practice, Cleveland.com first reported.

X-rays after practice confirmed the break, the team later announced

Coleman was coming off a breakout game against the Baltimore Ravens with five catches for 104 yards and two scores.

The Browns lost starting quarterback Robert Griffin III in the season opener with an injured left shoulder. Veteran Josh McCown, last season's starter, also injured his left shoulder last Sunday. Starting center Cam Erving suffered a bruised lung in the 25-20 loss to the Ravens. Rookie defensive end Carl Nassib had surgery this week after breaking his hand Sunday.

Without Coleman, the Browns will lean on sixth-year receiver Terrelle Pryor, who has six receptions for 100 yards, until Josh Gordon returns from suspension in Week 5.

Pryor, who played quarterback at Ohio State, said he's willing to do anything — even die — to help the Browns get their first victory. Rookie quarterback Cody Kessler, a third-round pick from USC, will start next Sunday in Miami with recently signed journeyman Charlie Whitehurst as his backup.
