Dez Bryant ... to the Browns?
The receiver has been on the market for more than three months, but so far only the Ravens have expressed interest in him.
Bryant turned down the Ravens offer and said he wants to play for a "contender," which makes it almost laughable that the Browns have had discussions with him.
Browns general manager John Dorsey didn't say how the discussions went, but did praise Bryant and his character.
"I have had the chance to be around Dez," Dorsey said in a press conference, via 247Sports. "I have known Dez. I got a chance when he was down there at Lutken, Texas. I actually went to his workout and got a chance to meet him down there. I know what kind of person he is and what make him. He is a very talented player. Have we had discussions about Dez Bryant? Yeah. It's natural. You are going to have discussions like that.
"Now we will see what comes to fruition in the next couple of days but we talked about it. You have to talk about these things."
The Browns have only won one game in the past two season, so they don't exactly fit the "contender" criteria. He would also have to battle Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman for the starting position, though their off-field issues with the NFL does give Bryant a leg up.
Could the addition of Baker Mayfield be enough to sway Bryant to want to work with the Browns? That could be a deciding factor if Bryant decides to lower his standards and give Cleveland a chance.
