Déjà vu?
For much of the offseason, Brandon Aiyuk and the 49ers were at an impasse, seemingly unable to find common ground on the terms of the big-money deal Aiyuk and his representatives felt he so richly deserved.
Aiyuk appeared to be angling for a move elsewhere, placing an official trade request in July. In the end, though, San Francisco is where Aiyuk's heart — and wallet — lay.
On Thursday, he made it official. Aiyuk and the 49ers agreed to a long-term contract extension, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
The move sees Aiyuk surge into the upper echelons of NFL wideouts, not just in terms of talent, but also in terms of market value.
Here's the latest on Aiyuk's new deal.

Brandon Aiyuk contract details
- Years: 4
- Value: $120 million
- AAV: $30 million
- Guaranteed: $76 million
Aiyuk inked a four-year, $120 million extension Thursday with the 49ers. He'll net $76 million in guaranteed money over the course of his contract, tied for the sixth-highest total among wide receivers.
The new deal will kick in during the 2025 season. Aiyuk will receive $30 in average annual salary, making him the fifth-highest paid receiver by that metric.
The Arizona State product put together the most productive season of his young career in 2023, posting career highs in yardage (1,342) and yards per catch (17.9). Aiyuk, 26, established himself as one of Brock Purdy's favorite targets, garnering an All-Pro second-team nod in the process.
For his efforts, Aiyuk was richly rewarded. He now takes his place among the stars, surging past plenty of stars to become one of the highest-paid non-QBs in the league.
