The Bears are getting rid of Cody Parkey.

Chicago is set to release the former Pro Bowl player at the start of the league year, according to an NFL.com report.

Parkey 27, missed a career-high seven field goals in the 2018-19 season. His crucial double-doink miss against the Eagles in the wild-card round led to Chicago's 16-15 loss at Soldier Field, which ended its Super Bowl dreams.

The Bears signed Parkey to a four-year deal worth $15 million before last season, making him the league's fourth highest paid place kicker.

Chicago held workouts and signed Tulsa product Redford Jones in the offseason. It is unclear how the team's kicking situation will shake out next year.
