Commanders running back Austin Ekeler is being evaluated for a concussion during the "Monday Night Football" game against the Bengals.
Ekeler was starting to find a rhythm in the run game for Washington. He had three carries for 35 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown and added two receptions for 22 receiving yards through the air.
The 29-year-old injected some life into his team to open the second half, ripping off a 62-yard kick return to bring the Commanders into the red zone immediately.

He started the second half with a bang, breaking off a 62-yard kick return to give the Commanders a red-zone possession on the first drive of the third quarter.

Ekeler took a quick breather on the sidelines after the big play but returned to the backfield a few snaps later.
He picked up three yards on a carry up the middle but took a shot to the head on the way down. Ekeler went to the sidelines right after the play and went to the locker room shortly thereafter.
When the Commanders took the field following a Bengals touchdown, sideline reporter Lisa Salters announced that Ekeler would not return to the game.
