The Broncos might have gotten themselves a steal with fullback Andy Janovich.

The rookie out of Nebraska scored a 28-yard rushing touchdown on his first NFL carry in Denver's season opener Thursday against the Panthers.

Janovich, 23, was taken in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, No. 176 overall. While splitting time at fullback with C.J. Zimmerer for the Cornhuskers, Janovich ran for 265 yards and three touchdowns last year. He had just 6 rushing yards prior to his senior year. He also caught five passes for 87 yards during his college career. He was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection last year.

If the rest of his carries are like his first, he'll have no problem eclipsing his college stats.

Born and raised in Gretna, Neb., Janovich was also a standout football player and wrestler in high school, where he was a two-time state wrestling champion and reeled off 99 consecutive victories.
