Christmas is near, which means it's the season of giving, and that's exactly what Vikings running back Adrian Peterson did this week.

The veteran dressed up as Santa Claus and delivered gifts to children in need. It was all part of he and his wife's Christmas event called, “Christmas with the Petersons."

Several more of Peterson's family members attended the event, along with teammates Charles Johnson and Matt Asiata.

MORE: Why Vikings might move on from Peterson

“It was just fun to see the kids come up and give me hugs and see the smiles on their faces when I told them, ‘Go ahead and dig in the candy bag, grab as much as you can, and we have presents for you,’" Peterson told Vikings.com. “That’s what it’s all about. I’m just happy that I’m in a position to be able to bless others."
