"Monday Night Football" is up north this week, with the Vikings and 49ers closing out Week 7 in the NFL.
While the two squads were atop the NFC last season, that can only be said about one of those teams in 2023. The 49ers have looked like one of the most dominant units in football, sporting a 5-1 record. The Vikings have been falling apart, bringing a 2-4 record into Monday night.

Last week, San Francisco suffered its first defeat of the season, as the 49ers shockingly lost to P.J. Walker and the Browns. The offense was hurt by injuries to Deebo Samuel, Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams.
The 19-17 defeat marked the first time this season that the 49ers did not put up at least 30 points. An appointment against a middle-of-the-pack Vikings defense could be just what the Niners need to get back on track.
Minnesota comes into Week 7 with a bit of momentum on its side after defeating Chicago, 19-13. The Vikings' passing game was less effective with no Justin Jefferson, with Kirk Cousins throwing for just 181 yards through the air. However, the defense forced three turnovers to get the job done against the Bears.
The Vikings know they will be without Jefferson this week, as the star WR is on injured reserve with a hamstring ailment. The offense will need its supporting cast of Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson and K.J. Osborn to step up in his absence.
If McCaffrey and Samuel are no-gos for the 49ers, expect Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle to see more targets in the passing game, while Elijah Mitchell and Jordan mason will see increased roles out of the backfield.
