The first NFL game of the 2015 season will feature the Steelers and the Vikings.

The teams will meet Aug. 9 in the annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, the NFL announced Wednesday. The 8 p.m. game will be televised by NBC.

Steelers running back Jerome Bettis and Vikings center Mick Tingelhoff are among the inductees in the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2015.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer called playing in the game a "tremendous honor," adding in a statement, "It will give our players, coaches an extra week to prepare for the regular season and to evaluate our roster."

Pittsburgh will be playing in the Hall of Fame Game for the sixth time, most recently a 2007 win over the Saints. Minnesota is making its fourth appearance in the game and hasn't made the trip since defeating the Seahawks in the 1997 preseason.

The Giants defeated the Bills in last year's game in Canton.
