Which new quarterbacks will make an impact in new homes?

Several Power 5 schools, including a few College Football Playoff contenders, picked up a transfer quarterback for the 2017 season.

Here are five transfer quarterbacks who will make an instant impact with their new teams in 2017. (Florida’s Malik Zaire was added after the publication of the magazine).

Jarrett Stidham, Auburn

Gus Malzahn's offense needs a stat-stuffer at quarterback, and Stidham showed flashes as a freshman at Baylor. If Stidham matches the profile in new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey’s offense, then it could be a memorable year for the Tigers.

Max Browne, Pittsburgh

Browne left USC and found a home with an ACC contender in Pittsburgh, which welcomes a new offensive coordinator in former Indiana quarterback coach Shawn Watson.

Will Grier, West Virginia

Grier served a one-year suspension before transferring from Florida, so we haven’t seen him in action since 2015. Grier, however, could be the perfect fit in the Mountaineers’ scheme.

Brandon Harris, North Carolina

Harris could surprise after leaving LSU for the Tar Heels, where he could thrive in a quick-fire passing game that should improve his completion percentage.

Blake Barnett, Arizona State

Barnett didn’t have the cleanest transfer from Alabama and Nick Saban, but that should give him the motivation to make it work for the Sun Devils. He’ll compete with Manny Wilkins for playing time once eligible.

Malik Zaire, Florida

Zaire transferred to Florida, where he will compete for a starting job with Feleipe Franks and Luke Del Rio. The former Notre Dame quarterback isn’t guaranteed the starting job, but he’s an intriguing option for Jim McElwain.

Anu Solomon, Baylor

Kyle Allen, Houston

Shane Morris, Central Michigan
