Wisconsin-Oshkosh's Brett Kasper was named the team captain of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team last week on its 25th anniversary.
It’s another example of his work both on and off the field.
Kasper led the Titans to the Division III championship game this season, where they will play Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas) in Salem, Va., at 7 p.m. ET on Friday. Kasper has 2,404 passing yards, 19 TDs and six interceptions this season.
Kasper helped Wisconsin-Oshkosh reach the Division III title game with a 14-12 victory against John Carroll last week in which he scored the Titans’ only TD.
He was named the 2015 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Offensive Player of the Year in 2015.
Kasper also was named captain of the Allstate AFCA Good Works captain this season for his inspiring story off the field. Kasper — through the campus chapter of “Be The Match” — helped Phoenix Bridegroom, an eight-year-old girl in need of a bone marrow transplant. Kasper was a match and underwent surgery in February of 2015. Bridegroom met Kasper as part of a ceremony with the team this season.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team has worked with college football for 25 years to highlight student-athletes for their work off the field. For more, visit their website.
