The College Football Playoff committee, which will pick the four teams in this year's playoff, released its third Top 25 rankings Tuesday.
Mississippi State (9-0) is No. 1, but Oregon (8-1) moved up to No. 2 ahead of No. 3 Florida State (9-0). TCU (8-1) is ranked No. 4. Alabama (8-1) and Arizona State (8-1) are the first two teams out.

Baylor (8-1) and Ohio State (8-1) rounded out the top eight. Auburn (7-2), which held the No. 3 spot before a loss to Texas A&M last week, is the highest-ranked two-loss team.
The four-team playoff begins Jan. 1. Two teams will play in the Rose Bowl at 5 p.m. ET and the other two will face off in the Sugar Bowl at 8:30 p.m. The winners will play in the College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 12 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
