What was it that Les Miles said about recruits leaving the state of Louisiana?

Wonder what the LSU coach thinks today after 5-star quarterback Shea Patterson (out of Calvary Baptist Academy in Shreveport, La.) announced his commitment to Ole Miss over offers from LSU and a host of other schools.

At 6-2, 195 pounds, Patterson is rated as the No. 17 overall player according to the 247Sports composite player rankings, the No. 3 pro-style QB and the No. 2 player in Louisiana.

Patterson committed to Arizona in 2012 when he was a freshman, but decommitted from the Wildcats last summer. He also was considering Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and USC.

Patterson's older brother, Sean Patterson Jr., is an offensive quality control assistant at LSU, and reportedly is expected to take a job at Ole Miss, although his father has denied anything has happened, the Clarion-Ledger reported. Sean Patterson held a position on the Arizona staff after Shea committed to the Wildcats in 2012.

To LSU's defense, Miles does have a quarterback committed for the 2016. Dual-threat QB Feleipe Franks (6-5, 220) committed to the Tigers last summer. He's a 4-star prospect from Wakulla (Crawfordville, Fla.).

Defensive tackle Edwin Alexander is the top-rated player in Louisiana for the 2016 class, and it's a good bet LSU is doing everything it can to keep him from leaving the state.
