Report: Oregon DB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu will miss playoffs with knee injury image

Oregon will enter the playoffs without one of its best players and team leaders.

Senior defensive back Ifo Ekpre-Olomu injured his knee in practice Tuesday, according to a report, and will miss the postseason. The second-seeded Ducks play No. 3 Florida State on Jan. 1 in the Rose Bowl.

Ekpre-Olomu was named a Sporting News All-American on Tuesday. He recorded 63 tackles, two interceptions with nine pass breakups.

The Ducks face the nation's 14th-best passing offense. Led by 2013 Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston, the Seminoles average 299.8 passing yards per game. Oregon has not been great against the pass — they are 100th in the nation allowing 259.5 passing yards per game — but many of those yards have come after the Ducks have built large leads.
