Charlie Strong is likely to be fired at the end of the season but he still has plenty of supporters in Texas, including the Longhorns' No. 1 celebrity fan Matthew McConaughey.
"For his entire three years here, he's had one goal in mind — what's best for these young men," McConaughey told KTBC television in Austin. "That's been his goal and that's the message that we'll take forward. That's the message that the whole university and all our fans and all our kids are going to take forward.

"That’s going to be the legacy of Charlie Strong and that’s a great thing, that’s why we are going to go out there and whoop TCU’s ass on Friday."
Losing to lowly Kansas on Saturday was the straw that broke Strong’s back as Texas moved to 16-20 in its third year.
McConaughey might have to start making friends with Houston coach Tom Herman if he wants to keep giving pep talks to the Longhorns before big games.
