J.T. Barrett shows off screws removed from ankle after late-season injury image

Braxton Miller's shoulder injury thrust J.T. Barrett into the spotlight prior to the start of last season.

Barrett's injury late in the season catapulted Cardale Jones into superstar status.

Now they're all starting to heal and that means trouble for opponents and Ohio State coaches.

On Tuesday, Barrett posted a photo on Instagram of two screws that were removed from the ankle he fractured in the regular-season finale against Michigan.

Surgery went well, got these screws taken out. #blessed #gobucks

Jones stepped in, finished off the Wolverines, then led the Buckeyes to the Big Ten title over Wisconsin, a College Football Playoff victory against Alabama in the semifinals and the national championship win against Oregon.

Miller announced recently that he's throwing again.

All three remain on the Ohio State roster despite a lot of talk at the end of the season that Miller would seek a transfer. Because he's a graduate, he can play anywhere immediately.
