Jim Harbaugh is back at Michigan, and he’s bringing back another tradition.
According to a report from Rivals’ Chris Balas, Michigan is bringing back helmet stickers and getting rid of the Legends jerseys in 2015.
What does this mean?
Harbaugh is honoring former coach Bo Schembechler, who first began awarding helmet stickers in 1969. The Wolverines continued to use helmet stickers, which featured a wolverine, until Lloyd Carr ended that tradition in 1995.

The Legends jerseys were used under former coach Brady Hoke, which were awarded to players during the season. Example: Former receiver Jeremy Gallon was given the No. 21, a Legends jersey worn by former Heisman Trophy winning-receiver Desmond Howard. It quickly became an overdone practice in 2014.
So helmet decals in, legacy jerseys out. It’s another wrinkle sure to score approval with a tradition-obsessed fanbase.
Michigan plays its spring game April 4 and opens the season at Utah on Sept. 3.
