College Football Playoff rankings: Mississippi State still holds fourth spot image

The College Football Playoff committee, which will pick the four teams in this year's playoff, released its latest Top 25 rankings Tuesday. 

Alabama (10-1), Oregon (10-1), Florida State (11-0) and Mississippi State (10-1) maintained the top four spots in the rankings for the second straight week.

TCU (9-1) remains in the fifth spot, while Ohio State (10-1) and Baylor (9-1) round out the top seven. UCLA (9-2) is the top two-loss team in the rankings. 

The four-team playoff begins Jan. 1. Two teams will play in the Rose Bowl at 5 p.m. ET and the other two will face off in the Sugar Bowl at 8:30 p.m. The winners will play in the College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 12 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
