Kansas sophomore Carlton Bragg Jr. was arrested Friday and charged with one misdemeanor count of battery in connection with an incident involving his girlfriend.
Bragg allegedly struck the woman and pushing her down a flight of stairs during an argument Thursday. He pleaded not guilty during a hearing Friday in Douglas County, Kan.

If convicted, Bragg, 20, could be sentenced to up to six months in jail and receive a fine. He is due back in court Dec. 27.
Kansas acknowledged Bragg's arrest earlier Friday.
"We are aware of the situation and in the process of gathering information and once we have the facts we will act accordingly,” KU associate athletic director Jim Marchiony said in a statement, via the Kansas City Star.
Bragg, a 6-10 Cleveland product, is averaging 7.8 points and 5.3 rebounds for the No. 3 Jayhawks.

Kansas sophomore Carlton Bragg Jr. remained in jail early Friday after an incident involving a family member Thursday in Lawrence, Kan.
According to Douglas County online jail records, Bragg was arrested Thursday and booked on suspicion of domestic battery; knowing of reckless bodily harm to a family member. No bond is listed and no charges have been filed.
