Williams, a 6-3 guard from Chesterfield, Va. is ranked 82nd in ESPN’s Top 100 recruits.
The Williams signing comes less than a week after UNC lost out on in-state recruit Brandon Ingram. Ingram, who was ranked third overall by ESPN, committed to rival Duke after an intense recruiting battle.
Williams originally committed to VCU, but later decided to re-evaluate his decision, choosing UNC over Virginia and the Rams.
