According to TMZ, Randolph has now been charged with misdemeanor possession of more than one ounce of marijuana and misdemeanor resisting arrest. Since it's Randolph's first arrest he likely won't see any jail time.
There are conflicting reports about the way the incident took place on Aug. 9 at the Nickerson Gardens housing project in Watts.
Police responded to the area around 10 p.m. local time and found a large crowd of people blocking the roadway. Three people then grabbed at their waistbands and ran away from the scene, and officers pursued them. TMZ said six police cars were vandalized before order was restored.
CBS Los Angeles reported at the time Randolph and another man were arrested "after a mob confronted police" at the site. According to the Los Angeles Times, police later formed a skirmish line in an attempt to disperse the crowd.
Online records show Randolph was arrested at 11 p.m. and booked into jail at 4:23 a.m., with his bail set at $20,000.
