Victor Wembanyama's Summer League was short but sweet.
Following an uneven debut that saw him shoot 2-for-13 from the field, Wembanyama put his potential on full display in his second Summer League game. In San Antonio's 85-80 loss to Portland on Sunday, he led the way with 27 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks.
Unfortunately, that's the last we'll see of Wembanyama for a few months because he's been ruled out of the final three games of Summer League to prepare for his rookie season.
In two games, Wembanyama led the Spurs with averages of 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks.

Where is Victor Wembanyama? Why Spurs rookie isn't playing in Las Vegas Summer League game
On Monday, July 10, Mike Finger of the San Antonio Express-News reported that Wembanyama is "100% finished with Summer League."
According to Finger, San Antonio's plan was for Wembanyama to play in two games to give him "a taste of the NBA." (Wembanyama mentioned previously that he would play "at least one or two games" at the Las Vegas Summer League.) He will now get an extended break before the start of the 2023-24 season.
Unlike most of the other players in his draft class, Wembanyama only recently put the finishing touches on his 2022-23 season. His team, Metropolitans 92, was eliminated in the LNB Pro A Finals on June 16. He then traveled from France to Brooklyn for the 2023 NBA Draft on June 22 where he was selected with the No. 1 pick.

Training camp will open for the Spurs on Sept. 27. Preseason games will follow on Sept. 30.
Wembanyama has already said that he won't play for France at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, which will run from Aug. 25 to Sept 10, to focus on his rookie season with the Spurs.
“I’ve decided to dedicate this summer to preparing my body for the many events awaiting it in the coming years,” Wembanyama said. “This meant skipping the World Cup. It was a difficult decision, and one that required the advice of many people. But I sincerely believe it’s the best one for the French team and myself.”
Wembanyama added that he was not pressured by the Spurs to skip the tournament.
