Ben Simmons once again ranks among the league leaders in assists this season.
After ranking fifth as a rookie, Simmons once again ranks fifth behind only Russell Westbrook, Kyle Lowry, Jrue Holiday and LeBron James.
While it’s certainly impressive to drop dimes at a voluminous rate from Day 1, ranking inside the top five in assists doesn’t truly do it justice when talking about Simmons and his incredible playmaking ability.
It’s not necessarily that he fills up the stat sheet, it’s how he fills up the stat sheet that’s perhaps most impressive. There’s a unique flair and flash to his passing that makes the second-year Sixer among the most cerebral players in the league.
Case in point?
Philly’s very first game of the season way back in October. With just under five minutes left in the second quarter, Simmons flipped a no-look dime over his head to Markelle Fultz who finished in traffic.
