Following the 114-87 Spurs loss, head coach Gregg Popovich looked to seek out his former player Jonathon Simmons who signed a three-year 18-million-dollar (USD) contract with the Magic this past off-season.

Instead he was fooled by the hoodie-wearing Terrence Ross, who Pop really has no ties too.

The future hall-of-fame coach eventually caught up with Simmons to congratulate him on the win.

"Make sure you save your money," Simmons said with a smile when asked by Fox Sports Florida what the message from his former coach was.

"He's always on me. He's been through situations and nobody is crippled to situations.

"So (he's) just making sure I save my money."

Simmons finished the game with 17 points and four rebounds in 22 minutes to help the Magic remain at the top of the Eastern Conference at 4-1.
