The Golden State Warriors say they are being cautious with the injury status of one of their key role players.
Backup center Festus Ezeli will be out at least until after the NBA All-Star Game with a knee injury, according to coach Steve Kerr.
Ezeli has missed the last four games with the injury, and is expected to undergo MRIs soon. Kerr said the team and the players agent plan on having doctors check out the cartilage issue further.
"Sometimes these things aren't easily diagnosed from an MRI. That's why we're getting more opinions," Kerr said, via the San Jose Mercury News. "That's about the extent of my knowledge."
Ezeli is averaging 7.5 points and 5.9 rebounds this season. He started for a stretch earlier this season when Andrew Bogut was unable to play.
