Before Victor Wembanyama was drafted, many were wondering if the French phenom would play in Summer League.
The No. 1 pick usually participates in Summer League, but Wembanyama's 2022-23 season went on much longer than the average NBA prospect. With his Metropolitans 92 advancing to the finals of France's LNB Pro A league, he last played on June 15, a week before the 2023 NBA Draft.
It turns out Wembanyama will play for the Spurs in Summer League, but he won't be available for all of it.

Where is Victor Wembanyama? Why Spurs rookie isn't playing in Sacramento's California Classic Summer League
The Spurs are participating in two of three Summer Leagues this offseason.
In addition to the usual Las Vegas Summer League, which features all 30 teams in the NBA, the Spurs will play in the California Classic Summer League, which features six teams and will take place in Sacramento on July 3 and 5.
The Spurs will play two games at the California Classic. After facing the Hornets on July 3, they will take on the Lakers on July 5.
The Spurs said before the California Classic that Wembanyama would not travel with the team to Sacramento. He will instead join them for the Las Vegas Summer League between July 7 and 17.
The Spurs say No. 1 pick Victor Wembanyama will not be traveling to Sacramento with the summer league team for two games but will join the team in Las Vegas. The Spurs’ first summer league game in Las Vegas will be July 7 against the Charlotte Hornets.
