Team USA opens group play with a loss.
Led by 28 points from Evan Fournier, France defeated the USA by a final score of 83-76. It marks Team USA's first Olympic loss since 2004.

End of third quarter: France 62, USA 56
— France outscores USA 25-11 in the third quarter to take the lead. Should be a veeeery interesting fourth quarter.
— Nando de Colo is heating up. He's scored seven straight points for France — two 3s and a free throw.
— There it is: Nando de Colo knocks down a 3-pointer to give France a 55-54 lead with 2:42 to go in the third quarter.

— Quite the response from Team USA out of the timeout. Zach LaVine knocks down a 3-pointer off of a pass from Jrue Holiday and follows up it with a dunk in transition following a steal from Draymond Green. It's a nine-point game again.

— Team USA leads by seven points after one. Turnovers has been a story early in this one, as France has commited six turnovers already.
