Steve Kerr will not coach in the Golden State Warriors' NBA season opener against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday.
Kerr, who is recovering from multiple off-season back surgeries, also appears set to miss the trips to Houston and New Orleans that follow their opener.
Assistant Luke Walton will continue to lead the team as he has since Kerr first took a leave of absence earlier in October.
Warriors general manager Bob Myers said there remained uncertainty over when Kerr would be back.
"Even if you ask Steve, he doesn't know," Myers said, via ESPN.
The Warriors finished 3-4 in the pre-season.
