Russell Westbrook gets 100th career triple-double as Thunder defeat Hawks image

Russell Westbrook recorded his 100th career triple-double on Wednesday (AEDT) posting 32 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in the Oklahoma City Thunder's 119-107 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Westbrook needed 736 games to reach 100 triple-doubles becoming the third fastest player in league history only behind Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson who needed 227 and 656 games respectively.

The reigning league MVP now only trails Roberston (181), Johnson (138) and Jason Kidd (107) on the all-time list for triple-doubles.


The Hawks tied the game at 103 late in the fourth quarter after Taurean Prince drilled a triple. The Thunder then went on a 16-0 run to pull away from Atlanta and walked away with their fourth straight win.

Carmelo Anthony finished with 21 points, four rebounds and three blocks. Jerami Grant came off the bench and added 20 points, five rebounds, two steals, two blocks in the win.

Prince led the way for the Hawks with a team-high 25 points.

The Thunder are now 1.5 games behind the Portland Trail Blazers for third place in the Western Conference.

They'll host the Los Angeles Clippers on March 17 tip at 11:00 a.m (AEDT).
