After rolling through the Western Conference and besting the Cavs in the Finals they look to be coming into the season without worries. After a crazy off-season which saw a lot of movement, especially in the Western Conference, Golden State's air of confidence still seems borderline arrogant.
According to ESPN's Zach Lowe the Warriors don't fear the Oklahoma City Thunder and more specifically the 2016-17 MVP Russell Westbrook.
Lowe said during his podcast "The Lowe Post" that the Dubs don't stress about Westbrook because his style of play was "so easy to defend". Lowe credited sources and anonymous current Warriors players continuing on to say "it's like cake to them."
The Thunder added Paul George and Carmelo Anthony in the off-season leading most to believe they have the best chance of upsetting the Warriors in the playoffs.
A season ago OKC lost all four of their games to the Warriors and it wasn't even close.
Westbrook however averaged a near triple-double in those contest going for 27.3 points, 10 rebounds, and 9.5 assists, but also averaged 8 turnovers.
With Anthony and George by his side, Westbrook should now have enough fire power to compete against the Western Conference juggernaut.
