The Philadelphia Sixers received some good news on Wednesday (AEDT) with reports indicating that Ben Simmons has been cleared for full basketball activity.

Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times reported the news after Simmons was seen dominating a local pick-up game in Melbourne this week.

The Aussie sensation suffered a foot injury last September which kept him out his entire rookie year.

The initial diagnosis was only a three-month absence for Simmons, but he suffered setbacks in the recovery process.

The Sixers still haven't received word on if Joel Embiid is cleared after a torn left meniscus kept him out of the lineup late last season.

If, and that's a big if, the Sixers are fully fit many are expecting them to make a push for the playoffs.

This Simmons' news could be the start of positive things in Philadelphia this season.
