Report: Sacramento declines to match Atlanta's reported offer sheet for Bogdan Bogdanovic image

A couple of days earlier, the Hawks signed restricted free agent Bogdan Bogdanovic to a four-year $72 million dollar offer sheet.

That gave the Kings 48 hours to match or let the Serbian shooting guard walk for nothing and according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, they have decided on the latter.

Wojnarowski further adds in his report, that the Kings did ponder over matching the offer but instead, decided to go with new General Manager Monte McNair’s plan to maintain roster flexibility, something matching Bogdanovic's offer wouldn't have given them.

With that, the 28-year-old Bogdanovic joins the Hawks' talented and rich free-agent class of 2020. According to reports, the Atlanta franchise have already come to agreements on deals with Rajon Rondo, Danilo Gallinari (sign-and-trade), and Kris Dunn.

Add those players to the existing talented group in Atlanta - All-Star point guard Trae Young, John Collins, Cam Reddish, De’Andre Hunter, Clint Capela, Kevin Huerter - and the projections for the Hawks' 2020-21 season look bright, to say the least.

As the Hawks reportedly secure Bogdanovic, the Serbian's busy week comes to an end. On Nov 17, it was reported that he was headed to the Milwaukee Bucks in a sign-and-trade but, as per The Athletic's Sam Amick, that deal fell apart because there  "was never an agreement" from Bogdanovic to join the Bucks.

That prompted him to test restricted free-agency, which ultimately reportedly landed him in Atlanta. Not long after Wojnarowski's report, Bogdanovic bid goodbye to Sacramento with a farewell message:

Picked 27th overall in the 2014 Draft by the Phoenix Suns, and later traded to the Kings, Bogdanovic averaged 15.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game on .440/.372/.741 shooting splits in 29.0 minutes of playing time for the 2019-20 season.
