The Boston Celtics have been very patient over the last couple of years, being very cautious of not overpaying for assets.

It's been clear that several teams have shown interest in trading for Indiana's All-Star Paul George, but the Celtics are still unwilling to reach for what may be a one-year rental.

The C's have reportedly reached out to the Pacers, and are waiting to hear back from their front office, but sources told the Boston Herald's Mark Murphy that the price for George may be too steep.

Murphy also reported that the Pacers asked for quite a haul when dealing with the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers in negotiations.

Danny Ainge and the C's have been reportedly been trying to work on a scenario that would land them both George and Utah free agent Gordon Hayward in this offseason.

It appears as though the Celtics' front-office have plenty of work to do to get those deals done.
