Report: Lakers, Mavs had conversation around potential Randle-for-Noel trade image

Julius Randle has had an up and down tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers, but in his fourth season he looks to have found somewhat of a role.

However, Randle's name keeps coming up in trade rumours, and on Saturday (AEDT) it happened again.

During ESPN's second screen show of the Lakers' 113-106 loss to the Warriors, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Dallas Mavericks had contacted the Lakers about a potential trade of Randle for Nerlens Noel.

Woj stated the conversations were had, but were brief as Noel is now out with an injured thumb which could keep him out of action for four to six weeks.

Randle who's been coming off the bench for Luke Walton this season, is averaging 12.2 points and 6.1 rebounds in 22.3 minutes per game this year.

The seventh overall pick in the 2014 draft is also shooting a career-high 55.2 percent from the field.

It will be interesting to see if the Mavericks continue to pursue Randle, who has never really been able to tap into his full potential as a Laker.
