While the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly acquired Anthony Davis in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, there's still work to do to fill out their roster.
Can they land an All-Star caliber player in free agency?
According to the Athletic's Sam Amick, a source close to LeBron James believes that Kyrie Irving, who is set to become a free agent this offseason, is a possible acquisition for the Lakers.

Per The Athletic's David Aldridge, Irving has been wanting to play alongside Davis for quite some time.
If Irving, Kemba Walker or any other max-level free agent decides to sign with the Lakers, it would have to be before the Davis trade is completed.
However, that would mean the Pelicans and Lakers would have to wait until July 30th to complete the trade, in order to have $32.5 million in cap space available, instead of $23.7 million, which according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is set to be finalised on July 6th,
Irving will become a free agent this offseason after the 27-year-old declined his 2019-20 player option worth $21.3 million. He averaged 23.8 points, 6.9 assists, and 5.0 rebounds for the Celtics in the 2018-19 season, one that ended after a 4-1 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in the Conference Semifinals.
