The Atlanta Hawks were reportedly sellers in December, but towards the final minutes of the trade deadline they became aggressive buyers.

ESPN's Marc Stein reports that the Hawks made a strong push to land either Jimmy Butler, or Paul George.

The Hawks currently sit fifth in the Eastern Conference, 7.5 games behind the top spot.

If they were able to land either Butler or George it would've given them a great option to play with All-Star Paul Millsap.

The arms race in the East was certainly in full swing near the deadline.

The off-season could provide some interesting scenarios.
