The summer of speculation surrounding Ben Simmons has only just begun.
While we're no closer to knowing if the Aussie will continue his NBA career in Philadelphia, talks have apparently already begun with hopes of coming to a resolution.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Simmons' agent and CEO of Klutch Sports Rich Paul has had talks with the 76ers' front office regarding the three-time All-Star's future.

Paul reportedly met with president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and general manager Elton Brand at the pre-draft combine in Chicago with the hope of figuring out whether or not it makes sense to work to find a trade for Simmons before the beginning of next season. Though the talks around a possible trade have been brought up, no formal trade request was made according to Wojnarowski.
Following the disappointing loss to the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, Morey was asked about Simmons' future with the team. He made a non-committal statement, saying: "None of us can predict the future of what's going to happen in any, in any place."
What is for sure, however, is that there are four years and $147 million (USD) remaining on Simmons' contract. And regardless of the 24-year-old's shortcomings, they'll likely be a handful of teams that would be happy to have Simmons.
Finding a new home for Simmons is an option that could be explored, but having him work and improve on his game is another. Simmons saw his free throw percentage drop from 61.3 percent in the regular season to an abysmal 34.2 percent in the playoffs.
Simmons' shooting issues showed up at the worst possible time for the 76ers, but he understands there's work to be done. Whether or not he can show his expected improvements in Philly remains to be seen.
More to come.
