It's hard not to like Nikola Jokic.
Whether it's his MVP-caliber play on the court or his goofy, fun personality off it, Jokic has earned a large fanbase from around the world. He's adding to that with his latest TV appearance.
It's not an NBA promo either. The Nuggets superstar is featured in a Despicable Me 4 commercial, teasing the movie ahead of its summer debut.

Nikola Jokic Despicable Me 4 commercial
Jokic is easily recognizable in his Nuggets jersey, but he's been mistaken for someone else when wearing his all-grey suit with a black long-sleeve underneath.
In a conversation with his therapist, Jokic explains that people say he looks like Gru, the main protagonist in the Despicable Me series. A few tweets appear on the screen as proof of the comparison.
"I thought I looked really good that day," Jokic said. "I put on this beautiful suit that said, 'I mean business.' ... They say I look like Gru."

Gru has a large group of minions that work for him. These minions are small, oval-shaped yellow creatures — they can either have one or two eyes.
Jokic says the comparison doesn't bother him, but he can't quite get the minions to believe he's not Gru. He pulls up the blinds to show a handful of minions cheering on from outside.
"They won't leave me alone," Jokic said. "Guys, I'm not your boss!"
Thankfully for Jokic, the minions won't follow him into the NBA Playoffs as the No. 2 Nuggets face the No. 7 Lakers in the first round. But based on his outfit choice for Game 1 of the series, he's committed to the bit.

When does Despicable Me 4 come out?
The fourth installment of the Despicable Me movie series will be in theaters on July 3, 2024.
