Stephen Curry made his return to the Golden State Warriors' lineup on Tuesday night, and it didn't take him long to re-introduce himself.
MORE: Three takeaways from the Warriors' Game 2 win over the Pelicans
Curry took and made his first shot after coming off the bench in the first quarter - it was the start to a successful return as he finished with 28 points in 27 minutes as the Warriors defeated the Pelicans 121-116 to take a 2-0 series lead.
"I'll be back where I should be soon," Curry told TNT's David Aldridge after the game. "It was good to be back on the floor.
"I didn't think about it much. When you're out there on the floor the adrenaline rush is great, feed off of teammates - the energy, the crowd's energy and that's all you really need.
"I been working hard the last six weeks and it paid off."
The two-time league MVP showed no signs of rust going 8-for-15 from the field, and 5-for-10 from three-point range. He added seven rebounds and three steals leading the team with a +26.
Head Coach Steve Kerr told reporters after the win that he wasn't concerned about the injured knee, but he was conscious of his conditioning.
It didn't surprise Kerr however that Curry was going to have an impact on the game.
"We knew we wanted to play him 25 minutes or so," Kerr said at the post-game press conference. "Not so much based on his knee, but based on his conditioning.
"I would say it played out as I expected, I knew I would play (Curry) more than what we planned. I think we planned on 24 (minutes) and he got to 27.
"He was Steph. He doesn't take long to warm up, that's for sure."
The rest of the league got a glimpse of what the Warriors look like at full strength for the first time in the 2018 playoffs.
The defending champions may be putting all together in time for another run at the Larry O'Brien Thorphy.
