Livingston, 32, and Kirkland bumped heads after Livingston protested a non-call in the second quarter of the Warriors’ 123-95 win over the Heat at American Airlines Arena.
As a result, Livingston was assessed a technical foul and ejected for making contact with a game official. Upon league office review, it was determined that Kirkland moved toward Livingston and shared responsibility for the contact that occurred.
Kirkland’s suspension will begin Tuesday and run through Monday, Dec. 11. He will be eligible to return to game action on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Livingston will serve his suspension Tuesday when the Warriors play the Pelicans.
Livingston, one of the main pieces off Golden State's bench last year during its championship run, has averaged just 4.7 points and 2.0 assists so far this season.
With Livingston out of the lineup, Andre Iguodala and Nick Young could earn time at backup point guard.
