The next generation of hoopers continues to impress.

Over the weekend, some of the world's best high school hoopers converged on Atlanta for the fifth NBA Academy Games, with Australia's NBA Global Academy team taking out the title, defeating the NBA Academy Select team 91-84.

This marked the NBA Global Academy's first win in the tournament since 2019 — and third overall — going a perfect 6-0 with wins over NBA Academy Africa Blue, Mokan Elite, NBA Academy Select (twice), NBA Academy Africa Red and All Iowa Attack.

In the championship game, Kiwi big man Julius Halaifonua led the NBA Global Academy with a team-high 22 points and five rebounds. Fellow Kiwi Oscar Goodman added 17 points, while Aussie Jacob Furphy chipped in with 14 points, respectively, putting on a show in front of hundreds of college coaches and NBA personnel.
