Andre Iguodala plans to test the NBA free-agency waters this summers, and the Warriors figure to have plenty of competition for the forward’s services, The Vertical reports.

Iguodala is one of several potential free agents on the Warriors roster. They’ll have to navigate a complex salary cap situation in their effort to re-sign him, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Shaun Livingston this offseason.
The Jazz, Clippers, Bulls, Timberwolves and Hawks are also expected to among Iguodala’s suitors, according to The Vertical. To be successful in their pursuit, teams will have to convince Iguodala they have a viable plan to contend for a title, NBA sources tell the website.
Iguodala, an excellent wing defender and MVP of the 2015 NBA Finals, could command a contract worth $20 million annually.
Durant can help his team’s cause to keep its core intact. If he opts out of the last year of his contract and accepts a new one-year deal and a $3.5 million pay cut, the Warriors will be able to exceed their salary cap to re-sign Iguodala and Livingston.
It’s not going to be cheap. By some estimates, it would cost Golden State $1.4 billion in salary and luxury tax to keep the current roster together over for the next four years.
