After trading up to take University of Washington product one-and-done point guard Markelle Fultz with the No. 1 overall pick in last month's NBA Draft, Philadelphia has come to terms with 11th-year sharpshooter JJ Redick to fill out their backcourt.

The tandem cold accompany a frontline that will may consist of last year's top pick Ben Simmons, who's yet to turn 21, and 2016-17 Rookie of the Year candidates 23-year-olds Dario Saric and Joel Embiid.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski , Redick and the 76ers have come to terms on a one-year deal that will pay him $23 million, a sum the 76ers can afford to dole out with the bulk of their roster still on salary-cap friendly rookie deals. Redick was the Clippers' third-leading scorer behind Blake Griffin and Chris Paul, averaging 15 points on 44.5 percent shooting in 2016-17. His 42.9 percentage from 3-point range was sixth in the league. Philadelphia, which finished last season 28-54 after winning just 10 games in 2015-16, was 23rd in the league from behind arc, shooting a woeful 34 percent last season.

News of Redick's agreement comes just two days afte it was rumoured he might link back up with Paul as a member of the Houston Rockets, who led the league with more than 3,300 3-point attempts last year.
