The NBA season has reached its unofficial midway point, meaning NBA All-Star Weekend is here once again.
After taking over Salt Lake City in 2023, the NBA's premier event is headed to Indianapolis, which is hosting All-Star festivities for the first time in nearly 40 years.
Just as in years past, there will be many All-Star Weekend mainstays taking the floor as well as a few fresh-faced newcomers that are sure to become regulars in the coming years. This year's All-Star Weekend also features the return of a familiar All-Star Game format and a first-of-its-kind competition on All-Star Saturday Night.

The NBA's 30 head coaches selected the reserves for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game. Commissioner Adam Silver selects the replacement for any player unable to participate in the All-Star Game by choosing a player from the same conference as the player who is being replaced.
Raptors forward Scottie Barnes and Hawks guard Trae Young have been selected as replacements for Embiid and Julius Randle. East head coach Doc Rivers selected Adebayo to replace Embiid in the starting lineup.

First-time All-Stars in 2024
This year's All-Star Game features four first-time All-Stars, each of whom will represent the Eastern Conference.
- Paolo Banchero, Magic
- Scottie Barnes, Raptors
- Jalen Brunson, Knicks
- Tyrese Maxey, 76ers
Banchero, 21, is the youngest player in this year's All-Star Game. The second-year forward is averaging 22.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists for a Magic team that is looking to snap a three-year playoff drought.
Who is coaching in the 2024 NBA All-Star Game?
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers will lead the Eastern Conference All-Stars while Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch will coach the Western Conference All-Stars.
All-Star head coaches are determined by the standings as the job typically goes to the team with the conference's best record through games played on Sunday, Feb. 4.
While Rivers has been Milwaukee's coach for less than a month, he earned the nod because the Bucks had the East's second-best record behind the Celtics, whose staff is ineligible to coach in 2024 after coaching in the 2023 All-Star Game.
Finch will lead the West as the Timberwolves had the conference's best record through games played on Feb. 4.
