The day after witnessing contract-player Yogi Ferrell score a career-high 32 points with nine three-pointers in a win over the Blazers, the Mavericks have decided to lock up the former Indiana guard with a two-year deal, according to The Vertical.

Ferrell, who started the past four games for the Mavericks, will sign the new contract when his 10-day deal expires Tuesday, the report says. Dallas is 4-0 when Ferrell has started and have won nine of their past 12 games after a dismal start to the season.
Ferrell tied a franchise record for threes made by a rookie Friday against the Blazers and is averaging 17.8 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 boards, 1.8 steals his past four games. His recent play has earned praise from teammates and coaches.
"I love the way he's playing," Mavs coach Rick Carlisle told reporters Friday. "He's got a great team vibe to him, he's got great energy, he's taking advantage of the way they're playing him and playing Dirk [Nowitzki] and other guys in pick and rolls. He's an opportunistic guy and it's pretty clear that he's out to prove a point."
