Lebron James will indeed play in the Cavs' home opener against his old teammates and current rival Kyrie Irving coach Ty Lue announced to the media.

NBA fans have had the game circled on the calendar once Irving was traded to the Celtics in the off-season.

James was listed as questionable with an ankle injury heading into Wednesday's match-up.

The four-time MVP has been dealing with a sprained left ankle he suffered during training camp and later tweaked again while playing in the Cavs' preseason game against the Bulls.

He missed the Cavs' final preseason against the Magic but did participate in the team's shootaround Wednesday.

James hasn't missed an opener in his last 14 NBA seasons and the 32-year-old isn't going to miss this one.
