Kyrie Irving's All-Star candidacy may have been a joke to John Wall, but LeBron James found the question laughable for a different reason.
James gave a glowing endorsement of his team-mate as an All-Star and much more following the Cavaliers' 121-115 win over Wall’s Washington Wizards on Wednesday.
"What question?" James asked reporters rhetorically.
"Have an All-Star Game at his house. He’s an automatic All-Star. He’s the best point guard in our league."
After the performance Irving put on against the Wizards, it is hard to argue against his All-Star candidacy.
Irving was sensational, scoring 32 points on 14-of-22 shooting in just his seventh game back after missing the start of the season due to a fractured kneecap.
James had a game-high 34 points to go with 10 rebounds and four assists.
And he did not stop there when praising his team-mate, who smiled and laughed while watching James answer the question.
"He's much more than an All-Star," James said.
"That’s small peanuts on his plate, and what it should be on his progression. He’s much more than an All-Star. Hopefully that will take care of itself.”
Wall scored 20 points and racked up 12 assists, but also had seven turnovers.
