MORE: Which Kobe jersey should the Lakers retire?
Bryant left Tuesday's game against the Pelicans early with soreness in his right Achilles, but was originally ruled questionable to play in Los Angeles' next game, on the road Thursday against the Warriors.
Despite announcing his plan to retire after the season, Bryant, 37, has been playing heavy minutes when healthy. Coach Byron Scott has been adamant Bryant's minutes wouldn't decrease but seemed more open to the possibility after Tuesday's game.
"I'll reconsider it (playing time) probably when he's ready to play again," Scott said via ESPN. "I don't know if he's going to be ready to play Thursday in [Oakland]. That's really the last thing on my mind. It's more how he feels, and it's something we can control."
An extended absence from the lineup for Bryant, who is averaging 17.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game this season, would mean increased playing time for Lou Williams and Jordan Clarkson.
