It looks like Christmas may come a little early for the Cavaliers this year.
All-Star guard Kyrie Irving is expected to make his season debut soon, possibly on Dec. 20 against the 76ers, according to Cleveland.com.
Cavaliers coach David Blatt said Sunday that Irving wouldn’t be ready to play during the team’s upcoming two-game road trip, as he had previously hoped, but sounded optimistic that it wouldn’t be long before Irving takes the court again.
"We've still got some things that we want to go through with him before we let him get back out there," Blatt said, "but he is looking good and feeling good."
Irving has not played since June 4 when he tore the ACL in his left knee during Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
Cavs forward Iman Shumpert made his season debut on Friday after recovering from preseason wrist injury.
