Kyrie Irving unsure of Bucks’ throwback court image

Kyrie Irving sure knows how to ruin a good thing. First he leaves Cleveland, and now he’s taking aim at the Bucks’ dope throwback court design.

Milwaukee is hosting a "Return to the MECCA" night at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena (formerly MECCA Arena) on Friday (AEDT) to honor the building where the Bucks played from 1977-1988. The best part of the entire event is the bright, multi-colored playing surface.

Look at this beauty:

Now leave it to Irving to question the integrity of the floor and try to take some shine off of this work of art.

"I'm all about safety, so we'll see how it is on my knees, see how it is on everyone's bodies," Irving told reporters ( via ESPN.com ). "I know this is a pretty older court and it looks like it's fresh painted as well. I'm just going to do my assessment and go from there."

When Irving was told the floor is a typical playing surface and simply painted, Irving wasn't convinced. The Bucks even pointed out in a video capturing the court's construction that a "cushioned subfloor for greater safety and durability" was added to the design.

"It took me three steps to realize this is not the same NBA court I'm used to playing on," Irving said. "We'll see what's up."

Let’s keep in mind this is the same guy who tried to convince us the earth was flat in February before recently taking it all back.
